• Identical to Model 28 except:
• 554 Arm is designed to eliminate visible adjusting screws on face of door
• Arm bolt locks arm to closer spindle (adjustment made through heel of door)
• Built-in positive dead stop prevents door from swinging beyond the desired opening degree
• Available non hold open (NHO) or selective hold open (SHO) at same degree as dead stop
• Separate and independent valves for closing speed, latch speed and back-check
• Cycolac cement case
• Furnished with wood and machine screws
• Not allowed for fire rated doors
• Applied stop required, available separately (see Rixson Model 60131 or similar)

Technical Notes:
All Rixson single acting closers have a preloaded spindle that causes the arm (door) to come to rest beyond the zero degree position approximately 5-7 degrees. This is to ensure the latch engages in the strike and to help overcome negative building pressures. This requires all frames to have integral or applied stops.
